My apartment in New York is a five minute walk from Chelsea Market. Seed and Mills vegan salted tahini caramel soft serve is one of my all time favorite desserts. I spent countless summer nights with a creamy cone dripping with tahini and flaky chunks of halvah. This shake shares the rich sesame flavor but is loaded with veggies and protein. Making it the perfect dessert for breakfast kind of smoothie. Cauliflower adds bulk but is very mild allowing the candy sweet dates and deep nutty overtones of tahini steal the show. Cauliflower in smoothies not your thing? Replace it with a frozen banana.

Description

Ingredients

6 oz nut milk of choice
2 tablespoon tahini
2-3 dates, pitted*
1.5 cups cauliflower OR 1 frozen banana
1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein
optional- pinch of flaky salt, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

variations: This shake is delicious with both chocolate and vanilla protein. I like to add cinnamon with the vanilla or a tablespoon (or two!) of cocoa powder with the chocolate.

*if your dates are not super soft soak them in boiling water for a few minutes.
