Liver is the ultimate superfood – one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. I’ve been incorporating organ meats into my family’s diets for quite some time (see below). I am new to raw liver and can tolerate about 1/2 oz in my smoothies without completely ruining the taste. A little goes a long way but I find a high quality protein powder, bananas or berries and flavors like chocolate, maple and honey help mask the flavor. Raw liver is not for everyone- I am personally comfortable consuming well sourced, organic + grass fed raw liver.
If Raw Liver is not your thing these are some other ways I like to add more liver into my families diet-
• Buy Ranch Direct Ground Beef with Liver- perfect for chilis, burgers, tacos…
• Buy Ranch Direct Beef Boost Italian Sausage – my kids love these! I brown some sausages and add a jar of tomato sauce and simmer for 20 minutes or so. Serve with your favorite pasta.
• Force of Nature blends- these blends are a wonderful way to eat more organ meat. They contain both liver and heart and come in Beef, Bison, Chicken and Venison.
• Perfect Supplements desiccated liver- I like to add this to meat pasta sauce. They also carry liver supplements in pill form.

Instructions
If your liver is frozen defrost it in water. In a high speed blender blend the liver until smooth. Spread on a parchment lined baking sheet or transfer into silicone molds. Once frozen remove the liver from the parchment sheet and chop into small pieces and transfer to a freezer safe container. Freeze for 14 days before using- this is said to eliminate pathogens and parasites.
