Chicken feet make a rich, flavorful and nutritious broth. Filled with immune boosting properties, it’s very nourishing for your gut. There are also a multitude of health benefits for your skin, joints and bones. The feet are the most gelatinous part of the chicken and they contain a very large amount of collagen. This collagen creates an incredibly gelatinous broth- after it cools in the fridge it turns into jelly that can be scooped with a spoon! Once it is heated you can use it like any other bone broth.
How to use chicken feet stock
–I love sipping on this broth between meals
-Add to soups and stews
-Use it in place of water when making rice- I do this in the instant pot using 1.5 cup rice: 3 cups broth
Where to get chicken feet?
You want to make sure that your source is providing *clean* chicken feet. I order from Buy Ranch Direct as they come peeled and pretty clean. If you want to get them from the local butcher or farmers market (they are incredibly cheap!) definitely ask about the cleanliness. There are lots of resources online that provide how to self clean them at home if necessary.
